Terms of service
Plain English, and specific to what this service does.
What AccessCheck does
AccessCheck loads pages on websites you tell it to check, runs automated accessibility tests against them, and stores the results so you can see what changed over time. It reports issues. It does not modify your site, and it installs nothing on it.
What we do not promise
We do not certify, guarantee or determine legal compliance with the WCAG guidelines, the ADA, the European Accessibility Act, or any other standard or law. Automated testing cannot do that: it finds a portion of accessibility problems, and the rest need a person. A passing report is not a defence, and nothing we produce is a legal opinion.
The service is provided as-is, without warranty. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability: it runs on a single server, and scans are queued and can be delayed.
Only scan sites you are entitled to scan
By adding a site you confirm you own it or have permission to test it. Our scanner identifies itself honestly and requests pages at a deliberate delay; you must not use it to load someone else's site at volume, to probe systems you have no relationship with, or to work around access controls. We may suspend an account that does. If our scanner reached your site and you did not expect it, see about our bot.
Plans, allowances and payment
Each plan includes a page-scan allowance measured over a rolling 30-day window — one page tested once is one page-scan. The free plan includes 300 page-scans. When an allowance is used up, scans are refused until the window rolls over; we do not charge overage. Allowances and prices are on the plans page.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, and are currently available to customers in the United States. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can change plan or cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account; cancelling stops future charges and keeps your access until the end of the period you have paid for. If AccessCheck is not useful to you, email us within 30 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. You do not have to justify the request. After that window we do not refund part-months as a matter of routine, but if a charge looks wrong to you, write to us and we will put it right.
Your data
You own your scan data. You can export it or delete your account at any time from your account settings; deletion removes your account and its scan data. Detailed findings (captured HTML and element screenshots) are pruned after 180 days, while counts, scores and trends are kept so your history stays intact. The privacy notice has the specifics.
Changes and contact
